Irish and Italian Culture

THE IRISH AND ITALIAN CULTURE

The culture of Ireland refers to the is divided in two categories: the quiet and folkloristic life of farmers and midland, and the chaotic and frenetic life of inhabitats of cities.

Also the religion is divided in two groups: the Cattholic that are scattered over the island, and the Protestants of Ulster.

For the gastronomic culture, i can say that Ireland is the most important maker of beer in Europe, so the gastronomic dish is the beer, but also whiskey. For the food the cooking is divided in two kind: the traditional, simple dishes and modern dishes, but in every kind of cooking the potatoe is the main ingredient.

For the sport, in Ireland, are valued two tipical irish sports: the gaelic football and the hurling. These sports are distribuited during the year for involve, especially in summer, the clubs and the counties.

Instead the Italian culture is completely different for the religion, because in Italy there are only Cattholic Christians and is a good thing because is use like a glue that unites the Italy.
The food is based on all the ingredients because the italian gastronomic culture was influenced by a lot of cultures, but for the beer is too bad.
The tipical italian sport is socer and the most part italin popolation loves and plays this sport.
That is the italian culture.

Films

The Gladiator
Gladiator is a 2000 historical epic directed byRidley Scott, starring Russel Crowe, Joaquine Phoenix, Connie Nielsen, Ralf Moeller, Oliver Reed, Djmon Hounsou, Derek Jacobi and Richard Harris.
Crowe portrays the loyal Genereal Maximus Decimus Meridius, who betrayed when the Emperor's ambitious son, Commodus (Phoenix), murders his father and seizes the throne.
Reduced to slavery, Maximus rises throught the ranks of the gladiatorial arena to avenge the murder of his family and his Emperor.
Relesed in the USA on May 5, 2000, it was a box office success, receiving generally positive reviews, and was credited with briefly reviving the historical epic. The film was nominated for and won more awards; it won five Academy Awards in the 73rd Academy Awards including Besti Picture. Although there have been talks of both a prequel and sequel as of 2010, no production has begun.
For me this film is fantastic and i gave it five stars, for the screenplay, register, actors and all.
This liked me so much for two reasons:
1 because i like action\adventure films, and also i like the way of acting of Russel Crowe
2 because i'm from Rome and i can say that the film reflects very well the reality of that time, the ancient Rome.

Success

Matt Groening

Matthew Adam Groening is an American cartoonist, creator of the tv series The Simpsons and Futurama, where he is currently working as a creative consultant.

Born to a German Father and Norwegian mother, he graduated from Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington. When he went to Fox with the intention to propose a television adaptation of Life in Hell it was initially an afterthought, and developed there on time, The Simpsons.
Simpson family members gave the names of his family (later he said that he wasn't feeling very creative), his parents, Homer and Marge, and his younger sisters, Lisa and Maggie. Groening has also a brother and a older sister, Mark and Patty, but they weren't introduced into the Simpson family.
I believe that Matt Groening is very successful because:
1 he is extremely talented and he knew how to use it;
2 he is determined , he works very hard these years and for this he reaches his targets;
3 he has a lot of luck because in his work there are a lot of people that fail every day, but for him it isn't a problem.
